Update July 2025: Fast forward 2 years and new management again, there have been several improvements but we still have the loud music playing, etc. Tonight for whatever reason, someone decided to throw an half-full beer can at my door. I went outside and threw it right downstairs and told them to keep that mess at their own door. I keep my head down and don’t talk to anyone. I don’t even complain about the chains being on 2 of the gates here. I feel like I’m in prison but I don’t complain. Office staff are great. I know there are better options out there. Update: July 2023: From Dec 2019 to now July 2023, we have had several management transitions. I myst say, for the first time, we have one of the BEST maintenance teams ever!! The management team is responsive and do their best to ensure the property is steadily improved. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I moved to these apartments to save money but DANG!!! Let's start with the good - office staff have been friendly and I truly appreciate their customer service. The bad - as I'm writing this review at 11:53pm on a Saturday, my downstairs neighbors are having their weekly party complete with loud music that they've been playing alllll day. Almost every day since I've moved in this apt, I've been involuntarily "partying" with them. Inside my apt it's a battle with the bugs. They did bomb them out when we first moved in. I know because they left them all over but there are so many cracks, those brown disgusting roaches have moved back in. They crawl across my kitchen counter, bedroom walls, bathroom floor *crying*. I was warned that since my apt is not upgraded, the appliances would be mismatched. That's fine but they didn't mention that the top of the stove wouldn't close, or the dishwasher would be filthy. I wouldn't even wash dirt in there. Back to the good, there's no one hanging out, smoking weed like they were in the "luxury" apts I moved from and my kitchen floor was replaced after I asked. I also feel safe living here. I want to love it and find myself to be pretty low maintenance. I guess there is no perfect place but when my lease is up, I know I'll be moving to a unit that has been fully upgraded (should have done that in the first place). The Oaks aren't bad and you never know who your neighbors will be! If I had money, I would buy a house and buy my concert throwing neighbors one too. No one should have to deal with that.

If you’re not desperate, avoid this place at all cost. New management are good, however, this complex needs so much work to be habitable

Horrible maintenance. Refrigerator door handle broke off and ice maker never worked. Reported to maintenance man on July 12th. He said he would order a new one. As of August 31st when I moved out, ilnothing was ever repaired. Bathroom floor flooded numerous times. After the 4th attempt to try and rectify the issue, on August 30th 3 men came and attempted to repair it. Destiny, the Leasing agent, lied to me too many times to count. Upon Leasing the apartment she said cable was $70 a month and it was included in my lease. Not included, it's an additional charge of $75 on top of my monthly rent! I took pictures of at least 12 apartment units that were boarded up. Destiny said those apartments have been leased and are boarded to keep squatters out. Another lie. The manager agreed it was a lie and they are boarded due to water line breakages. My lease states I will be given a FOB for gate entrance. When I asked Destiny for my FOB, she said they don't give them as it's not needed. I can see why as the gates don't work. A breach of contract. The partying and loud cars with music blarring all night from across the street is umbearable, especially for a senior with major health issues. Destiny said since they have 24x7 security, all I have to do is call them and they will take care. Lying again. As the manager stated, they cant control the partying and loud noises from across the street, which my apt faced. Called security 3 times one morning to come and take a look at a dog who had been left in the heat all day barking, crying and scratching on the patio door for 12 hours. Security said they would be right over. It took him 8 hrs to arrive. Called animal control and the dog was gone the next day. Security doesn't exist there. Told destiny upon looking at the apt unit that I needed to move in immediately as I was living in a motel. She stated they needed to paint the apt and get it updated. Five days later she called and said it was ready. It was never painted and I'm sure the brown shag carpet is 10 yrs old!! I had to vacuum for 2 weeks before the dirt from the carpet was mostly gone. Went to the apt Leasing office and asked how old the carpet was in my unit. Whoever the girl was I spoke with said they don't have that information. Went to pay my rent on July 1st. But then Destiny tells me they can't accept a money order or cashier's check anymore. That's not what the lease states. She informed me I had to pay it at Walmart now. I believe this unit is filled with mold after checking the bathroom walls. Brackets that hold the toilet lid in place are now damaged after 3 men came to fix the flooded bathroom floor. Upon telling the office manager I could no longer live here due to chronic health issues that were enhanced from such poor unlivable conditions. She stated if I could present a note from my doctor, that she knew the corporate mgmt well and was sure my credit would not be affected. We'll see how true that statement is soon.
