I've been living here for 6 months and love it. It's the best price for a new apartment in Plano. Easy commute to Dallas or just take DART. Whole Foods is close by and nice restaurants in walking distance. I like that the gym has free weights. Pool is ok, but the courtyard is my happy place. The washer/dryer inside the apartment are an upgrade from my last place and I really like the kitchen - stainless appliances with marble looking counters and big island. I've never had an issue finding parking in the garage. Not everything is perfect, but it's been a lot better than other apartments I've rented.

I’m sorry, I REALLY wanted to love this place but the entire security system is a massive fail. I cant tell you how often the garage gate LOCKS people inside or outside or the parking structure. My front door security lock also malfunctions every time I try to lock the door , half the time my door never even locks. Its always “ oh the power went out”
I’ve made friends with a few of the renters here and they all absolutely hate the security systems here as well. Again, I really wanted to love this place. It’s beautiful and the staff is very friendly but anytime you leave or come home it’s a massive inconvenience. If I could break a lease and sign somewhere else I would
Also- they chose the WiFi provider. And I have to call the wi-Fi company at least once a week to reboot my Wi-Fi because it sucks. The functionality here is just not practical. it makes every day very frustrating living here.

Response to management’s reply: Do not believe them when they say it was the previous management’s issue. I still have all the stated problems with this current management. Oh and I was charged a fee for leaving my trash can outside but still haven’t been reimbursed for all the days valet trash didn’t pick up.
Moving into The Emory has been the biggest regret of my life, and that is not an exaggeration. I am literally counting down the days until I can move out. I moved in October of 2024 and my lease ends in November of 2025, and that date cannot come soon enough. I was originally planning to wait until I moved out to write this, but I feel like I need to warn anyone who may be thinking about living here.
The problems started before I even moved in. They tried to change my move-in date at the last minute, which made no sense. I obviously said no. Then on day one, the dishwasher flooded.
The internet is completely unreliable. If you work from home, good luck. When I brought it up, I was told to go work somewhere else. That was their solution.
Pest control shows up practically every week, and I still have spiders in my apartment. That alone should tell you something. On top of that, I didn’t have baseboards in the kitchen for three full months.
For the first six months, the fire alarm would go off randomly in the middle of the night. It was so frequent and so pointless that no one takes it seriously anymore. If there were a real fire, I don’t think anyone would react.
There was constant turnover in staff and management for the first several months. I think they’ve gone through at least three different management changes since I moved in. That kind of instability shows.
Maintenance once entered my unit without any notice and left my front door open for hours while I wasn’t home. I am unbelievably thankful my cat didn’t get out, because I would have never known until it was too late.
Trash pickup was another nightmare. For the first seven months, it wasn’t picked up consistently on the scheduled days. When I complained, I was told the valet trash workers are just human. I wonder if they would respond the same way if I was late on rent and said I was just human too.
This place has been nothing but stress and disappointment. I would never recommend it to anyone.

I used to really like this apartment complex—honestly, the first three months after I moved in last year were great, and I even thought about recommending it to a friend. But things have gone downhill fast since the start of this year.
The biggest issue is the AC. It works totally unpredictably. In the winter, some days it just didn’t heat properly—not ideal, but I could deal with it. But now, in the middle of a hot and humid summer, it’s keeping my apartment at 82–86 degrees even though I set it to 72. That’s just ridiculous. I’ve submitted two maintenance requests, and the problem still hasn’t been fixed. I’ve had to hang out in the common areas during the day just to stay cool. The AC fan had been turned on for the whole day during the past days, not sure how much my final electricity bill would be at the end of this billing circle :(. What’s worse is that maintenance used to be super responsive—they’d fix things without needing follow-ups. Now I have to keep calling just to get a response.
There are other annoying issues too—like false fire alarms and crazy high EV charging fees—which others have already mentioned in their reviews. They even charge expensive fee for using the lounge ( we pay monthly fee for amenity and I don't really understand why we still need to pay additional for it). At this point, I honestly can’t wait for my lease to end so I can move out.

First thing I should mention is the prior reviews about Internet connection concerns and fire alarms going off at 5am were addressed to my satisfaction by Andrea, the property manager. Internet is a big deal for me, so I was very keen on learning details. Andrea was very transparent and discussed how early on, when the property was a few months old, they had some troubleshooting issues in select areas of the property. Essentially these issues were resolved a section at a time and they are no longer concerns for the property.
I also must say that I have been particularly impressed with Andrea and Brianna. Andrea really loves her job, this property and the residents. That is very apparent. Brianna has helped answer questions & provide valuable insights into the application process numerous times over the phone.
Andrea toured the entire property for me. The whole tour was probably 2 hours long, which is honestly much longer than I typically would want to spend. Yet, the Emory is a beautiful property. Absolutely First Class. So I enjoyed seeing everything and Andrea is funny & very engaging. Time went by pretty quickly.
Conversely, as I have also spoken with other properties in the area, I have had some negative experiences. Leasing agents whose attitude did a 180 from fake nice to honest annoyed the moment I didn’t immediately apply with them. One leasing agent even made a snarky little “Good luck” type of comment. At another property I could tell 2 agents were having a passive aggressive argument about who would be credited for my commission. In both cases, I left thinking “Do I really want to deal with this leasing office on a regular basis?”
For The Emory, the answer is a resounding Yes! I look forward to officially being a long, long term resident very soon!
