The leasing office staff is the sole reason for my one star review. Location is great, rent is fair, but the staff here is terrible. All of the 5 star reviews are from people who DO NOT live here. They offer incentives to those who come to tour the property if they leave a good review….if you actually read the reviews, you’ll see that the people who live here are mostly disappointed due to the staff. I have rented my fair share of apartments and this is the most unprofessional group of employees that I have ever encountered. My unit was not cleaned prior to my move in. The asst. Manager did a “walk through” before releasing the keys…I’m not sure how she felt confident handing over my keys with the condition the unit was left in. I would’ve fired her solely based off that situation. It was absolutely disgusting. I brought it up to the property manager multiple times and was not offered compensation or even a simple apology. The property manager & assistant manager go out of their way to be petty, for example, removing my access to get into the gates and building without prior notice….and for no reason at all. I’ve asked for an explanation and still have yet to get one. They had my car towed when it was legally parked and registered and refuse to refund the $300 for towing expenses. For the 6 months that I’ve lived

Just wanted to leave a review of gratitude for the outstanding tour guide whose name starts with an “N” at the Dacoma apartments. Although I did not become a resident, I did want to say that I was very appreciative of her time. The tour was wonderful, the property is beautiful and so are the apartments. She was such a professional and very graceful assistant, that I would be remised if I did not mention such, as she was very impressionable. Thank you again for your time.

Njeri was an excellent guide that was able to answer all my questions and help me obtain a quote for the unit I was interested in within a timely manner. She was engaging the entire time and truly cared to show off the beautiful property taking her time to explain any details that a future resident would like to know.

This is the first team I've worked with that made me feel frustrated. I always try to be understanding, especially since I’ve worked in the service industry and know how challenging it can be. But I feel I need to share my experience here. I truly hope I was just overthinking the feeling of being singled out—and fingers crossed this review doesn’t lead to worse treatment.
My move-in process was stressful and confusing. During my tour, I asked about the pet policy because I was considering getting a support animal, but I wasn’t certain yet. When I signed the lease, I selected “no pet” since nothing was confirmed. However, I received a call telling me I had to pay a pet fee in advance just for mentioning the possibility — which felt unfair and accusatory. (This was said clearly on the phone, even though the office changed their explanation later.)
I stopped by to clarify the pet policy, but instead of simply explaining it, they canceled my original lease and made me sign a new one with a note about a potential pet. I explained that I was only asking because I have ADHD and depression, and I wanted to be fully prepared in case I decided to move in with a support animal. I explained to them that the pet belongs to my ex-boyfriend and I wasn’t sure yet if I’d be able to bring her with me.
My move-in wasn’t until the end of May—this conversation happened in mid-April—but they still insisted that just “mentioning” a pet required them to take this action.
The way it was handled made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I wish the communication had been clearer and more empathetic. Honestly, it felt like they were accusing me of lying, which was really disheartening.
There were also some maintenance issues when I moved in (a broken light fixture and a missing fridge cover) that weren’t addressed promptly. Maintenance is slow. Mostly need to wait more than 6 days.
After I moved in, it took more than two weeks to get my key working. I sent multiple messages, but the issue was brushed off as a locker problem caused by rain. I wanted them check it might be an activation issue, and even after the locker was fixed, my key still didn’t work — confirming my concern. The delay and lack of clear communication made the process frustrating and made me feel dismissed at times.
Btw, the key to access building only app key, if you wan physical key you need to pay $75. Only the old residents have keys and they didn’t pay anything for it.
I also received a $50 violation fee for leaving my bike on the patio — a rule I unfortunately missed in the lease. The notice went to my spam folder, so I didn’t see it until I was already charged. I asked if the fee could be waived since it was my first violation, but they declined. I understand it’s their policy, and I take responsibility — I’ve learned my lesson. However, because of my earlier experiences, I couldn’t help but feel singled out. I noticed that some neighbors have kept bikes or other stuff on their patios since the day I moved in, they’re probably just regularly paying the $50 without saying anything?
If you're thinking about moving in, I recommend reading both the good and bad reviews—many of the recent positive ones seem to be from people who only toured but don’t actually live here. Rent is not that cheap once all the fees are included, so it might be worth exploring other options. That said, the maintenance staff, the trash pickup lady, and Selena are all very kind, the neighbors are friendly, and the amenities are nice. But I still constantly see people moving out. I’ll update this review if I see improvements.
