I've been living at The Callie Apartments for about 4 months now, and overall, it’s been a great experience. From day one, Christian at the front office has been incredibly helpful—professional, friendly, and always quick to assist with any questions or needs. His support really made the move-in process smooth and stress-free.
The apartment itself has been solid—no major issues to speak of. While the location isn’t the prettiest and you do get some road noise, that’s honestly just part of apartment life and hasn’t been a dealbreaker for me. The geographical location however is PERFECT for getting around most of DFW.
If you're looking for a comfortable place with responsive staff and a good community vibe, The Callie is definitely worth considering. I’m glad I made the decision to live here.

I leased here because it was 100 yards from my place of employment and before I know of the conditions I’d be forced to live through. The noise, trash, and pests were nightmares. The German cockroaches were by far the most concerning. Management blew me off after offering one “bug bomb” which seemed to do absolutely nothing to help. The leasing agent was a nice guy and the location is convenient. Everything else made this place feel very un home-like.

Living at the The Callie was the closest thing to living in hell. I’m not one of the people that had too many issues with the front office and is just writing a bad review out of spite/anger.. I legitimately think this place is bottom of the barrel and want to warn as many people as possible of the very serious concerns that come with living here.
NOTE: the good reviews are from people that have TOURED
My application process and move in was hell. One of the leasing agents gave me information that the manager was later not going to honor. So there’s a major lack of communication in the office. BIG TIP: use email transcripts opposed to phone calls. They lack professionalism and order so keep that in mind.
The parking is unbelievable in the most terrible way possible.
On my first night, I saw a couple filming a sex scene in the parking lot with a selfie stand and ring light and ALL so that really set the tone for what was to come. A pure mess.
This apartment is by far the dirtiest, smelliest and broke down places I’ve ever lived ESPECIALLY for their prices. If I dealt with some of the issues I had but only paid somewhere around $900-1050, I wouldn’t feel as compelled to complain because you get what you pay for. But I was paying $1420+/month only for the elevator to work 3 months out of the 12 months I lived there, deal with a rat infestation and a roach infestation. Fortunately, the roaches and rats never entered my apartment but they were constantly surrounding the property and trash room. The trash room is literally a *trash* room BUT it did NOT have to be that disgusting and putrid. I’ve lived places where the trash room was well kept so there weren’t concerns of rats and roaches.
Each month, they have insane and completely idiotic “community fees” only for there to be next to no amenities. There’s 2 computers and a coffee machine in the office.. then a broken down gym and a pool.. The amount of random tacked on fees is stupid. Not to mention a mandatory “Fetch - Package Service” fee only for the service to not work and packages still get stolen, such a joke.
This isn’t the apartments fault and my heart goes out to the unhoused population in the surrounding area but the amount of homeless people and their trash along with some of the safety issues that come along with that apartment made me feel soooo uncomfortable and unsafe and prompted me to almost break my lease MULTIPLE times throughout the 12months I was there. ***So heads up to young, single women*** also with safety, I constantly hear people fighting and yelling in the halls and I think there’s a lot of college people because it’s so many parties. It’d be fine if they had decorum but they be leaving the place a mess afterward.
Back to the smelly trashy mess. I’ve found a pad on the stairs, a half eaten apple, dog turds, vomit, broken alcohol bottles, plates of food, ETC. As soon as you walk out of the door to this place it smells so bad that I start to gag and sometimes have to hold my breath as I walk to the car. I promise I’m not being a Karen, it’s literally just THAT disgusting.
If you have a pet, there’s no grass for your pets to use the bathroom (only wood chipped areas) and there’s a little patch of turf that rarely gets cleaned and almost smells chemically toxic. Also, no one really picks up after their pets so it gets nasty really quickly especially in the summer.
The ONLY reason I gave 2 starts instead of 1 is for the huge closet and the maintenance team. The closet provides so much space and the unit itself is workable. You can decorate and make it your own and feel at home but once you step out the door it’s chaos.
Shoutout to the maintenance woman Ashely, she was real and always helped as well as Mo and the other man, very nice and helpful people.
Overall, if you’re looking for a place that is cheaper than other places, it is cheaper but it comes with sacrifices. You can find other places that are less expensive that are better kept and more safe.

Based on the unprofessional application process. No responses, no communication, no consideration for the time of prospective tenants. Unfortunately, this is leasing office culture in Dallas, you have to go to the Suburbs to get a decent experience with leasing staff. Then they wonder why leasing agents are poorly paid... this is exactly why.. Luckily, I got an approval elsewhere.
