1 Star – They Do Not Care About You. Only Your Money. I lived at The Asher Austin and it was one of the worst decisions I’ve made. If you’re reading this and considering signing a lease—don’t. The building looks cute at first glance, but the reality of living here is a nightmare. The management is unprofessional, disrespectful, dismissive and clearly only cares about taking your money, not your wellbeing. Let me break it down for you:) SECURITY IS NON-EXISTENT. My car was broken into multiple times in the covered parking area. Instead of improving security, they started converting those spots into “reserved” spaces you now have to pay extra for. There are zero cameras, no patrols, no urgency from the office. Packages are constantly stolen, and management does nothing but give you a generic, “sorry that happened.” FINES for random, unexplained reasons show up on your account without warning. Good luck getting a clear answer. When you ask questions, the staff is passive-aggressive, rude, and completely dismissive. It’s obvious they do not care about residents at all—just your rent payment. Right across the street is a growing homeless encampment, and while we can all have compassion, it’s clear the property offers zero safety measures to protect residents. Add to that the fact that people are always smoking cigarettes on their balconies and right outside building doors, so if you don’t want to inhale secondhand smoke every time you leave your apartment, good luck. INSIDE THE APARTMENTS: mold in unit. It took forever to get addressed, and even then, the response felt rushed and cheap. There’s also a rat problem. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing—walls are paper-thin. Don’t expect any kind of privacy Parties, loud drunken neighbors, kids running wild in the hallways and complete lack of enforcement of any rules. The place is chaotic. There is no community, no care, and absolutely no accountability. Yes, the units have a nice layout and the aesthetic is trendy. But it’s not worth the stress, health risks, or lack of basic decency from the management team. They are only interested in collecting rent, and they will not lift a finger for your safety, comfort, or concerns. Avoid The Asher Austin at all costs. There are better places in this city where you’ll be treated like a human being, not just a paycheck. THE ASHER MANAGEMENT PLEASE DO BETTER.
