Been living here for almost 4 months now and everything has been great so far. They took care of the ice maker in the fridge when it wasn’t working and they took care of a small leak on the heater right away. The pool and gym is a great plus to staying here as well. Overall it has been great living here.

My husband and I have lived at Park Place Apartments twice over the years, and unfortunately, our recent experience has compelled us to leave a detailed review to warn future tenants.
We originally lived in Unit 3202, where I was pregnant, and we dealt with a ceiling leak that persisted for weeks. Despite submitting multiple maintenance requests, the response we received was a technician walking in, taking a photo of the puddle, and walking right back out—never fixing the issue. During this time, there was also a cricket infestation that we were told had affected the entire complex. Still, it added to the stress of living in an already uncomfortable environment during my pregnancy.
When we learned that our baby would be arriving shortly after our lease ended, we made the decision to transfer units for more space, which we were approved for in November 2024. We paid a transfer fee and moved into Unit 2215, hoping for a fresh start.
Unfortunately, what followed was even worse. In May 2025, we discovered an active termite infestation in Unit 2215. The situation escalated quickly — we found swarms of flying and crawling termites, droppings, and damage. It was terrifying, especially with our 4-month-old infant in the home. We reached out to management immediately, and pest control came out, but within 48 hours of treatment, the termites returned — confirming that the issue was never resolved. The technician himself told us the infestation had originated from the unit below and had spread into our home.
Despite asking multiple times, we never received any written pest control documentation confirming the infestation. No report, no written acknowledgment — nothing. This lack of transparency was deeply concerning.
After raising our concerns, Cassie, the Community Manager, emailed us on May 28th, stating:
“While the problem has now been addressed and resolved, we completely understand that this experience has been unsettling — especially with an infant in the home. Given the disruption this caused, we are willing to release you from your lease with no penalties.”
Based on that written statement, we planned to pay our June rent in good faith. We even went to purchase a money order for the full amount — $899.50 — but returned home to more live termites crawling across our walls. Feeling that it was unfair to pay for a unit that was clearly still uninhabitable, we returned the money to our account and made arrangements to move out.
We ultimately stopped residing in the unit on May 30th, moving in with family for our own safety. However, we couldn’t immediately return the keys because we had no place to store our belongings and had to wait for a local storage unit to become available (which we’re now paying for monthly). On top of that, we both work full-time and weren’t able to begin packing until late evenings, with the leasing office closing at 6 PM on weekdays and 5 PM on weekends. We also spent part of those weeks searching for housing with our realtor, trying to find a safe place for our family. It took us until June 7th to completely remove our items, and we returned the keys in person to Nat that same day.
Still, despite everything, we were told our lease would only be considered terminated as of June 7, and were charged a final balance of $385.67, which we have chosen to go ahead and pay — even though we believe it is completely unjustified given the circumstances and prior written statements.
The way this has been handled by upper management has been disappointing and disheartening to say the least. We are sharing this to protect other families from going through what we experienced. We urge potential tenants — especially families with children — to proceed with caution and consider how management has treated tenants during serious habitability issues.
