***update 06/06. I was contacted by the property and apologized to. They stated they would overnight me my deposit. GUESS WHAT?!? THAT WAS TUESDAY. ITS FRIDAY AND THERE IS NO REFUND ON MY DEPOSIT. GREAT JOB VALIANT!!!***
I looked at an apartment 03/28. The young lady who showed the apartment couldn't really answer any questions. IE what internet service providers are available, general estimates of allocated utilities, and explanation of thier bizarre parking policy... none. Mumbles and shrugs.
Inspire of this we liked the layout and location and proceeded with an application. 9 days later we were approved. After a few incorrect emails with incorrect information were sent, we final recieved confirmation.
04/11 i dropped off a deposit of 600.
Our move in date was 05/23.
About 10 days later. . Staff called asking if we wanted to move in early. No. I am under a lease with a 60 day move out notice.No, I don't want to move in early. I asked if everything was OK and they assured me it was. On May 9th, I received a phone call from the property manager Ana Gonzales, that my apartment would not be available on 5/23 because the current tenant... had filed an appeal to thier EVICTION. Marfa apartments, managed by Valiant knowingly attempted to lease an apartment that they could not reasonably be considered vacant. They offered "concessions " , none of which included a similar apt with similar square footage. Because I signed a lease for apt #___, that was n9t available, I was allowed to step back. (How gracious). It doesn't change the fact that Marfa apartments, wasted my time and energy that could have been placed elsewhere. Add insult to it all... I still haven't received back my deposit. Though 600 bucks isn't going to break me, one would think that the least a property manager could do, and want to do is ensure that a refund was promptly issued.
Though centrally located and spacious, based on the effectiveness, competence and practices of the staff here, I personally will never rent from this property group or recommend them to anyone. Proceed with caution at your own risk.

Recently, I noticed that the roof is licking water during rain. I have 2contacted the office couple of times and as usual it takes ages for them to receive any calls. withing last 10 days I have submitted 2 work orders, even I showed 2 of their maintenance guy what's the issue and they left saying that they will contact the roofers to fix the issue. Today it's raining and the water is licking again. **ON TOP OF THAT 2 OF MY WORK ORDER IS SHOWING COMPLETED EVEN THOUIGH THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED YET**

I stopped by to look at an apartment. A lady was sitting at the desk, on a call with the speaker on. She asked wat I needed and I told her I was looking for an apartment for March, April or May. She told me the rent changes too frequently for her to give me information (while consuming her phone conversation) and that I should come back another time. She said that everything is done on line, including the application and stuff, that they don't do anything there. So I didn't even get to see an apartment because I'm not ready to move yet. My conversation with her was done as she continued her phone conversation. I'm not impressed. She seemed bored with being there and wasn't interested in helping me. I won't go back.
