Truly, please, just don’t.
I say that not out of spite or pettiness, just a hope that people won’t go through everything I did across the past year.
The bugs (wasps, ants, roaches, spiders), the break-ins and theft, the stray garbage and pet waste, the revolving door of leasing and maintenance staff—all notable complaints from my time here, but not even the worst.
I moved into a unit that hadn’t been cleaned, that had broken fixtures and appliances, and that smelled overwhelmingly of cigarette smoke. The back door was literally off the hinges. There was paint splatter everywhere. And, though I left the unit carefully cleaned—and in far better condition than when I found it—my eventual departure cost over $1,100 dollars in cleaning and carpet replacement fees.
A scan of my inbox shows a dozen emails about water disruption since March.
The gates were often open (some gates along footpaths didn’t even have locks), and there were no security cameras on the property. Mail issues and car break-ins were common. I myself lost a bike chained to a rear-facing balcony.
The amenities were greatly oversold. The few times I visited the gym, none of the cardio equipment was operating properly (if at all). The “business center” printer did not work. I don’t believe the south side pool was open any time I visited.
The mailboxes were unusable for months, meaning I had to visit the post office to pick up my mail. They were never properly fixed.
The footpath to my unit was flooded after rain and occasionally blocked altogether by a torrent of water shooting across the path from a broken sprinkler.
Now, it demands saying that the people who lived there were all lovely in my experience. And the access to the Santa Fe trail (despite the coyotes) was such a nice feature. Too, there was free coffee in the leasing office.
Many of these issues are, I’m sure, shared issues across ill-managed apartments like these, and I almost certainly had an uncommonly bad time. I do, however, encourage you to seek other options if you are able.

I don’t live at Lakewood on the Trail, but I do live at a sister property. When my AC went out, I called the emergency maintenance line—and David was incredibly helpful. He arrived quickly, fixed the issue right away, and was both friendly and professional throughout. He left everything clean and made the whole experience stress-free.

I have only lived here for 3 months, but have had a great experience so far with the maintenance team. David and Luis recently came over to perform maintenance on my dishwasher, and they were able to fix it quickly. They're very friendly and professional. So far I really enjoy the location by the Santa Fe Trail, getting me out in a bit of nature, while enjoying all of the amenities of the great city of Dallas!

I have lived here for nearly 6 years and I want to give a shout out to the maintenance crew especially David and Luis. My washer stopped working and David ordered me a brand new one right away. Luis was fast and efficient installing it just two days later. Great care is always taken by the entire staff. A great place to live, super quiet and safe. Thank you!
