I was a resident at Indie Deep Ellum for one year. Carolina Hernandez Ocampo was my contact when I moved in. She was always helpful and followed up with me any time a need arise. Due to her ongoing strong leadership I strongly believe she needs to be the property manager. The current building leader did not follow up when small issues were brought to his attention.
Overall, I loved the Deep Ellum area. It is near downtown Dallas, lots of restaurants, bars, and shops.
The amenities at Indie Deep Ellum were amazing as you can see in the photos I took. The staff of the building were great-maintenance and cleaning.

The list is long. Don’t do it! It’s so bad I’m willing to risk retaliation on writing a review a month before my lease is up. This has been a horror show. I am happy that we are now in our home. We moved in Dec2025 for a short term lease, unit wasn’t ready as stated, we slept in the car on Christmas they didn’t care. We should have ran then. On move in the elevators didn’t work to imagine taking stairs to the 6th floor with a dresser and king bed. I’m not going into how bad this place is. But remember 4 months ago this complex had a less than a ⭐️ ⭐️ rating and you can tell these reviews were made by the same person or bots attempting to boost the rating. There are services that will create reviews to boost low ratings. Also do not get sucked into the Airbnb scam 25% of your earnings on top of paying Airbnb fees goes to Indie it’s NOT a free thing or a BONUS ( they get rent and 25% each stay). They keep mentioning a female in the office and saying similar words about knowledgable and helpful and professional🧢 (if it’s not bots then they getting paid for reviews because there’s no way). Just be smart also come around 6p any day or weekends to see how it really is. The place is not secure at all. Cars stolen left and right a lot of outside traffic inside the building and residential parking garage is open to anybody. Every resident have had the same/similar issues/experienced, it’s not about rules and guidelines if everybody is voicing the same things. Reviews from 2 years ago are still relevant. They are rude and sassy and in help in that office and rarely leave the office to help residents. There are better places to be. I am happy to see residents actually reviewing. Btw if you are a military veteran/service member or anyone with a registered service ADA animal know that you will be harassed about registering your “pet”

I had an excellent experience/tour working with Carolina while trying to find a place. She is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and patient throughout all of my 394746 questions. She took the time to understand my needs and preferences, and went above and beyond to give me different units that suited my preferred amenities. She is responsive and provided valuable insights into each unit we toured. Her friendly demeanor made the entire process stress free and enjoyable. I highly recommend Carolina to anyone looking for a hassle-free leasing experience at this location.

Great place, amenities are nice, rooftop and pool both have amazing views of downtown Dallas. Its clean and well kept. The downside is it smells like pot everywhere, despite bringing it up to management it has not been addressed. Otherwise a great place to live or spend a weekend. Walking distance from bars and restaurants.

I have been living at Indie Deep Ellum in Dallas for some time now, and while the location and apartment design are appealing, several significant issues severely detract from the overall experience.
1. Trash Management:
The trash chute has been permanently closed, leading residents to pile trash in the hallways. The only solution management offers is sending mass emails threatening fines, but the problem persists, creating an unsanitary and unpleasant environment.
2. Parking Troubles:
Parking is managed by a third party, leading to numerous problems. Despite paying monthly for a parking spot, I often end up paying nightly fees because the office claims they have no control over the situation. This lack of accountability is frustrating and unacceptable.
3. Unkempt Common Areas:
The community areas are frequently trashed by tenants, and there seems to be no effort to clean them up. This neglect results in an unsightly and unhygienic living environment.
4. Pet Waste Issues:
Many pet owners in the complex do not clean up after their dogs, leading to a pervasive smell of dog urine mixed with garbage. This is not only unpleasant but also a serious hygiene concern.
5. Unprofessional Management:
The property management team is consistently unprofessional and disrespectful. They treat residents as if they are beneath them and act as though their jobs are secure regardless of their performance. Interactions with them are something to avoid at all costs, and their poor management skills are a significant reason for many of the ongoing issues within the complex.
6. Fire Alarm Issues:
There are constant problems with the fire alarm. On one occasion, the alarm went off nonstop for six hours. This was extremely disruptive and highlighted the lack of responsiveness and care from the management team.
7. Poor Move-In Experience:
When first moving in, setting up everything was a nightmare. No one seemed to care to help, and I had to figure out everything, including the third-party parking, on my own. This led to paying nightly for parking for a month and spending a fortune before I could get any assistance, despite numerous calls for help.
8. Feeling Trapped:
Despite the appealing aspects of the complex, the terrible management and numerous issues make it hard to enjoy living here. Unfortunately, being tied to a contract means feeling trapped in a place that does not meet expectations and is not worth the high rent.
In conclusion, while Indie Deep Ellum has the potential to be a great place to live due to its location and design, the poor management, unclean conditions, parking issues, and lack of responsiveness make it a regrettable choice. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a hassle-free and pleasant living experience.
