Boston is available & on top of communication whenever I needed anything & would highly recommend touring with her at the Howell.

The application process has been very unclear and inconsistent. Each time I communicated with them, the requirements seemed to change. They ran my credit, took my time and money, and then asked for a guarantor—only to later insist that the guarantor must also cover the application fee. When I declined and instead offered to show proof of $40,000 in savings, they changed the requirement again, saying I needed to show monthly deposits of $6,000. It felt less like they were looking for a tenant and more like they were intentionally making the process difficult, no matter what documentation I offered.

Don't live here. To put it bluntly. Overpriced for what it is. Don't let the rooftop view sell you on the property. Lot of potential but no one cares about this property or the residents. If you do, be sure to take a video of your apartment before you leave because they are going to charge you with something and blame it on a vendor.
The reasons I chose to leave (in no particular order):
- The office staff (very nice people, this review isn't about them, but the management of this property as a whole) weren't helpful or cared about anything. Multiple requests for swapping into another unit were ignored, along with cleaning of public areas, and stolen packages.
- Every single Sunday, the fire/security alarm would beep in the front entryway. All day. While the noise didn't bother me as much, the fact that no one did anything to fix it, ever, told me everything I needed to know.
- The office manager lives in the building, she hears the same noise. In addition, the front lobby is a disaster on the weekends from beer, food, and even vomit. This usually doesn't get cleaned up until Monday.
- One time, there was vomit, in front of the main elevator from early Saturday morning through Monday morning when the cleaning lady came. And yes, that means the office manager would step over that vomit multiple times a day, rather than doing something about it.
- The parking garage has never been cleaned. The grills get cleaned once a quarter. The pool, much like the garage and the grills, is disgusting.
- The noise in the hallways, due to poor insulation of the doors/walls, penetrates into each and every apartment. The doors slamming from your neighbors shake all of the apartments around it. Over the winter, a neighbor's fire detector low battery was beeping for days, and I heard it in my apartment. It took them days to figure it out.
- I had two packages stolen from my front door and no one cared.
- Got hit with a $250 carpet replacement fee after I moved out. After inquiring about it, they blamed it on a third party vendor who makes these decisions. There were zero stains when I left my apartment and now it's a he-said, she-said kind of deal.
The fact there are so many positive Google reviews is wild to me, but then I realized the residents get incentivized to leave positive reviews. So, again, take a video before you move out, be okay with mediocre service, and living in a frat house on the weekends.
Update 4/1: A regional manager reached out and resolved the concern about the $250 carpet replacement fee. Thank you.

Living at Howell Uptown is great because of its central location, cleanliness, and young environment. But the main reason this place gets a full amazing review, is the maintenance crew. They are here next day if you need anything, and specifically Matteo goes above and beyond to fix anything and everything. His care for his work is amazing and makes this place wonderful to live at.
