This review is long over due found the pictures in my phone and figured I upload them so I can delete them. I moved to Houston in November of 2023. I had drove down to houston on a weekend and looked at multiple apartments before coming to a decision. Upon choosing I choose Cedar at Elligton. The week of move in I was told I’d be getting a unit then it was switch to another unit. I was told that the unit was move in ready. However it definitely was not the move in process was horrible. It looked nothing like on the website and was no where near ready to move in. The apartment smelled up mildew or mold and wet carpet. The carpets were sticky and the floors were also sticky. Door knobs where broken, the shower looked dirty and also still had markings from were I assume some type of work was to be done, paint spots all over the floors, cabinets looked as if they weren’t even cleaned with dirty marks on them, horrible paint job, there was also a broken window covered up with a FedEx packing paper, stove was not even put together the induction tops were taken off and the inner pieces were missing, inside of the cabinets looked so dirty and left over trash inside and trash behind the washer and dryer. The fire extinguisher was on empty, rust on the fridge the peep hole for the front door was covered with paper and painted over and never removed. Cracks in the granite counter tops, the carpet had fake toe nails in the closet up stairs as well as dried up food and macaroni stuck to the carpet. It was just a horrible process upon move in had high hopes but definitely was not move in ready. Also the front door was in front of the stair way so it was so hard getting furniture in too. I was not shown the unit prior to move in since I was suppose to be given another unit. Luckily I did not sign the lease and that had to be done so that saved me from having to move in I had to stay here a week it was so horrible. That same day there was also a car on bricks by the front off. During that week I looked for another apartment to move into. Wouldn’t suggest moving here before you sign any papers be sure that they show you the unit you’ll be leasing to confirm it’s move in ready.

Have lived here for years with many management changes.
Rachel and Raina do a great job to make sure things are getting done. They always keep you updated about repairs being done in the community. Keeps you informed about what buildings are being serviced by pest control.
If I need something checked out it’s usually done that day or the next. Of course they are willing to help you out in anyway they can. The property gates have worked with very little downtime which is great. It’s a great community to be in.

Can’t beat the price for the location. Just started going back to college so I needed something close by. It’s so close to the freeway so there’s easy access to everything. The office staff is extremely nice and the manager Rachel went above and beyond to help me get everything squared away for my move in. They even have a home town hero package for veterans and first responders that made moving in even easier. Would definitely rent here again. I think my only complaint would be other residents not always cleaning up after their dogs but that’s not a property thing thats just a human thing.

I’ve been at Cedars at Ellington for 3 months now. I love my apartment and the cost is just what I need. The apartments are affordable and well maintained. When I first moved in there was an issue with my lock and maintenance came the very next morning. Before my move to Texas I was in communication with Rachel and other office staff on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. They did everything to make me feel reassured my apartment would be ready when I arrived.
