I will attempt to remember to update this later on, once I've lived here for a while. I am a new tenant here. My move-in process has been very pleasant thus far. The leasing team has ensured that any effort I've had to put in was minimal. Everyone has been very kind and personable! They have also been very understanding and patient with me with all the questions I've had regarding the process, even going so far as to make suggestions. I would definitely recommend Barrow Apartments to any friends and family I have!

The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the leasing office staff are genuinely kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the problems with the property itself far outweigh that. These apartments are owned by Madera Residential, and I strongly advise anyone against renting from them. In my experience, they operate like slumlords—focused solely on collecting rent while neglecting to provide safe, clean, and livable conditions. The apartments are roach-infested, and pest control is inconsistent or completely absent. Plumbing issues are constant; every morning when I walked my kids to school, there was toilet paper and waste coming up from the drains. The property is not well-maintained there’s dog waste everywhere, and management doesn’t hold residents accountable. The construction materials are cheap and fall apart easily. Instead of making proper repairs, they often paint over issues or reuse damaged materials. Many essential appliances, like the dishwasher and garbage disposal, don’t work properly, and there are frequent electrical problems. The water has a foul odor, and flooding is a regular occurrence. When my apartment flooded on a Friday, no one came until Monday afternoon. To make matters worse, when they finally replaced my carpet, they left the damaged padding underneath and simply reused the old carpet.
Even worse, if your rent isn’t paid by the 15th regardless of whether you’ve already made arrangements—they will immediately file for eviction. It feels like the system is designed to trap residents rather than support them.
Overall, this was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. I do not recommend renting here under any circumstances.

This place is horrible stay away. My son live there with two kids and his AC has been out for two weeks. He has reported it several times with nothing being done. It is July and about to be August and it’s too hot to be without AC. Can someone tell me what I need to do? Who do I need to contact legally to complain about the apartment complex. I will not stop till his AC is fixed. They sent the maintenance man to fix it all he did was wash the unit off. It is still 80 degrees in my son’s apartment and he got a newborn at this point I’m consulting legal assistance. Please someone tell me what my next steps should be.

Been here like 2 weeks and it has been pathetic. Specifically Aliyah and the manager Lisa. Neither accept responsibility for anything. Move in day, yeah our key fobs didn’t work to get in the room, the AC was broken for a week, blue paint is still all over our patio slider, toilet wasn’t secured to the freaking ground and mud all over our window sills. When trying to communicate with them they just blow you off. We had to ask for the gate info and mail info (you would think competent employees would provide this info) we had to stay in a hotel for 3 days and they basically just said eff off. Don’t do business with Lisa or Aliyah. They are either incompetent or straight up liars.
