Me and my wife just recently rented a one bedroom apartment at the Reid apartments in Grand Prairie. The move-in was smooth, the paperwork wasn't difficult, however I didn't care that a lot of the stuff is online, instead letting us fill out the paperwork while we were there in person. Not much of a complaint.
The apartments are old but in good shape. The price point was absolutely perfect for us and that's ultimately what led us to sign a lease.
We've been here for roughly 10 days now and our AC went out, so I walk down to the office told them about the issue and they had it fixed the same day, like within 2 hours... ON A SATURDAY, Which was fantastic for obvious reasons.
I haven't met my neighbors, but so far they've been pretty quiet. Seems like most people work throughout the day come home to relax. Meaning it's not loud here at all.
Parking hasn't been an issue whatsoever however, I'm not exactly a fan of the exit only gate. I wish it was a come and go as you please type a deal instead of having to drive around the apartment complex to be able to get in and park.
I'm also not a big fan of having to register visitors for parking. It's kind of a hassle, but not a deal breaker.
Everybody in the office seems to be friendly and helpful which is always a plus.
I would say 4 stars all the way around. We haven't had any real problems come up. In all honesty, I figured we would have some type of pest problem (just because of how dated the complex is), but that hasn't been the case.
I would recommend.

(Edited) The front office people are nice. Helpful, to an extent. When I was touring they told me that some of the apartments come with a washer and dryer as the previous company who owned the property left them behind. When applying I specifically applied for an apartment that came with a washer and dryer. I got approved at the end of April. On June 6th, the day my lease started, they emailed me letting me know that I was being moved units as the one I applied for was not ready. (Seemed weird as I was approved for over a month). Not to mention the huge hassle I had to deal with getting my address changed on my electricity plan, wifi plan, and the furniture I order prior to move in. This unit did not come with a washer and dryer. They said they would transfer the washer and dryer to my new apartment. (I moved in 3 weeks ago and this still has not been done.) I emailed Andrea (who's been super nice through the process) and she let me know the washer and dryer are provided as a courtesy, and that they basically were not obligated to provide these. (Now it's a courtesy? I thought it was included into some of the units considering what I was told at the time of my tour?) she gave me other options like renting a washer and dryer, I could go get the washer and dryer from the 2nd floor unit myself, or buy my own. I had to buy my own and they were installed today. When I emailed her back, I also never got a response.
Not only did I have an issue with the washer and dryer, the unit was not clean when I moved in. I had to vaccuum twice before the cat hair was out of the carpet prior to moving my stuff in.
Feel like a bait and switch type situation. They'll tell you what you want to hear just to get you to sign the lease. The front office does seem to answer the phone frequently though, getting my mailbox key was quick and easy.
