Think twice before moving here,
I was disappointed under the previous management, but things have only gotten worse since Greystar took over. Despite paying over $100 a month in added fees for amenities, many are broken or unusable,
• The golf simulator has been out of service for months,
• The music and TV controls in amenity spaces don’t work,
• The theater is broken
• “Resident-only” access doors don’t function properly
• The dog park fences are rotting and falling over due to neglect and pet waste
They’ve also taken away things that used to make the place feel special, resident breakfasts are gone, the courtesy car service has been eliminated, and yet they still try to justify the same high rent. To be worth it, rent here would need to be at least $1,000 a month cheaper. I’ll definitely be moving out when this lease is up.
Maintenance requests for your unit are often ignored, and trying to speak with someone in the office is nearly impossible. They’ll tell you they’re too busy and insist you email, then fail to respond.
It used to feel like a luxury property when it opened, but it no longer lives up to that standard, and it’s only getting worse under Greystar’s management. It looks great during a tour, but don’t be fooled. If they offer you a move-in incentive, just know they’ll make it up tenfold at renewal time with steep rent hikes.
Amenity spaces now have limited hours and are often occupied by third parties or hotel guests who don’t live here, something that wasn’t happening when I moved in, and likely won’t be disclosed during your tour.
It’s a bait-and-switch, polished on the outside, but the experience of living here is nowhere near what’s promised.

I’ve been living at The National Residences for about 4 months now, and I regret every minute of it. The staff here is incredibly unreliable and unresponsive to emails—I've reached out multiple times for various issues, but no one ever gets back to me.
The building’s elevator situation is an absolute joke. Out of the 6 elevators, only 1 works at a time if lucky, which means waiting forever just to get to your floor. It’s beyond frustrating, and I can't believe a building of this size is so poorly maintained in that regard.
To make matters worse, the noise level on the higher floors due to seating of the building in the wind is unbearable. It's so loud that I’ve had to sleep with pillows over my ears just to get any rest. It’s a constant struggle to find some peace and quiet, and I’m genuinely shocked at how poorly soundproofed the place is.
On top of everything, the concierge has confirmed that my mail was delivered, but it’s mysteriously gone missing every time. It’s clear there’s no accountability or attention to detail here. If I had to guess that’s why they are switching over to Greystar management quietly.
Overall, I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere. This place has been nothing but a headache since I moved in.
- In response to the community google review response from the national. We have lived in over 10 different apartment communities, this place is by far the biggest cash grab I’ve ever seen. The lack of attention to residents to the removal of amenities after move in is a joke. Nobody should be paying this much for a rug pull living situation. We attempted to just part ways with the national as we feel we have been cheated and lied to and just overall let down. Asking 12k for parting ways after your shortcoming is an insult.

DO NOT lease Apartment 3809, without reading this first.
If you’re interested in leasing Apartment 3809 due to its gorgeous views of both the north and east. It's easy to fall in love with the place. But it has big problems that you won't notice on a walkthrough.
I currently live in 3809. I moved into this unit in late-May 2024 and will be making a very early exit in the coming week.
I am writing this because I am afraid that management will not make the necessary improvements to the apartment before re-leasing it.
There is something very wrong with the walls in this unit. Perfectly normal conversations can be heard coming from the apartments on both sides. When their TVs are on — even at an appropriate volume — it’s like they’re in the same room with you. And adult activities can be heard so clearly that you’ll think twice about having your own. Because THEY can hear YOU too.
At some point you’ll notice that much of the sound originates from the corners of the bedroom. This is because the metal safety railings in front of the windows are conductors of sound. In other words, sound from 3809 is piped right into the neighboring apartments via these railings. And vice versa.
So, you have no privacy.
Since moving in, I've gone to bed every night wondering if I will be woken up by next door neighbor coming home late and wanting to talk on the phone or play with her dog. Many nights, I sleep on the couch.
Now, you would expect management to resolve this issue.
But they won’t.
Here’s what they’ll do:
1. They’ll say that they’ve never experienced this problem before. But the truth is, the neighbor in 3808 complained about the same issue with the same wall (to the same people) when the previous resident lived here. And I complained about it many times, while also providing audio/video evidence.
2. They’ll ask if you’d like them to install soundproofing panels in your unit. However, these panels only reduce echo and reverb WITHIN a room. They do not stop sound from traveling BETWEEN rooms. It’s a cheap band-aid approach that will not solve the problem.
3. Once you decline the soundproofing panels, they will tell you that fixing the problem THE RIGHT WAY by installing new insulation in the bedroom walls, and looking into why the railing is conducting sound, is YOUR responsibility to pay for.
I kid you not.
I know all of this because it’s exactly what happened to me. And it’s why I’m breaking my lease 8 months early. Because first, residents should not be asked to pay for repairs in a building they don’t own. And second, I cannot live the next 8 months of my life with no assurance of a good night’s sleep and no expectation of personal privacy.
Nor should you.
So if you’re thinking about leasing 3809, ask for proof that this matter has been properly resolved.
Also ask if the flooding issue has been taken care of. When we had heavy rains in late-May, water was able to penetrate and soak the carpet on the east side of the master bedroom. Yes, on the 38th floor of a building made of steel and concrete! Which is of course not normal.
I hope you found this helpful.
Sean
P.S. -- Notice that in their response The National Management does not deny telling me that I had to pay to resolve the problem. Their proposed "soundproof paneling" solution was not going to resolve it, because such panels DO NOT keep sound from traveling between rooms. It would have been a waste of time. Sound panels cannot resolve what is an apparent structural issue. Also, the GM told me in-person that "there is nothing wrong with the unit." But if there's nothing wrong with the unit, then why the need for the soundproofing panels? Is there a problem, or is there not a problem?

Lived here for 3 years and the building has went through many different managements + all 4 resident elevators have only worked twice here in the 3 years I’ve been here. Tonight residents are waiting 30 minutes to get on the 1 elevator we currently have working. The resident side needs major improvement QUICKLY.
