What started as a promising, upscale property has devolved into a hollow shell of its former self. From day one, the customer service—especially from middle and upper management—was cold and dismissive. The friendliness ends the moment you sign your lease. I was routinely ignored, disrespected, and even antagonized by a toxic middle manager (whose name rhymes with Bristol)—a person so difficult she reportedly caused a leasing agent to transfer properties. She once accused me and others of “using too many coffee cups” and threatened we’d need to bring our own. When I politely asked for coffee lids, she later ripped them from my hand after realizing I’d found some under the counter—claiming I’d wasted her time. Another time, I came down for coffee with my clearly documented service animal on my shoulder, only to be told they needed to “swab the inside of its mouth” because they were “behind” on pet DNA collection. Absolutely not. And yes, they’ll try to charge you for your service animal—then act like you’ll be refunded. Check your ledger closely. For all their obsessive energy about collecting dog DNA, the property still has poop everywhere. With just two poop stations on a huge complex, what exactly do they expect? I raised these concerns—including poor coworking spaces and staff treatment—with the assistant property manager, who pretended to care until I made it clear I wasn’t renewing. Then her tone changed entirely. Avoid relying on maintenance—especially if you’re not a woman they find attractive. I saw them regularly help certain female tenants move, haul trash, and complete personal favors far outside their duties. Meanwhile, when I helped a neighbor by carrying a mattress downstairs, the moody Hispanic maintenance manager in the red pickup (with his fake smile and contempt for my car) aggressively confronted me. Instead of being thanked for not clogging the trash chute, I was slapped with a “trash violation” on move-out day, no questions asked. This same man regularly stalled on simple tasks like painting or repairs, stopping to chat with every woman passing through the garage. If you value peace and quiet—run. The walls are paper-thin. You will hear everything, including barking dogs and the scent of pet urine that regularly permeates shared spaces. Add to that cheaply done “luxury” finishes and you’ve got the full Margaret experience. They’ll also shut off your water without notice—and forget to inform you when it’s back. The newer residents are rowdy, loud, and sloppy. Fake pay stubs are apparently easy enough to get approved. Please note this is a highly gentrified area that is still up and coming. Crime and break-ins are commonplace, and don't expect the parking garage to keep your vehicle safe; the gates to both garages are almost always broken. And don’t forget the ridiculous fees: $75 for mandatory internet, plus trash, amenities, water, and utilities—stacked on top of inflated rent. You’ll pay $1,700+ for a one-bedroom that doesn’t even come with in-unit laundry unless you’re among the “chosen few” who befriend leasing staff. I heard this with my own ears—and it was confirmed by my cleaning lady, though management now denies it. If you still want to move to the Margaret, bring your patience...and receipts!
