We are currently living at The Crosby Apartments in Fort Worth and are just 14 days into our second month. Unfortunately, our experience has been overwhelmingly negative and stressful from the very beginning. After signing the lease, we received no communication about our move-in appointment until the actual day of move-in. This lack of basic coordination was stressful and unprofessional. When we arrived, we brought a money order for the exact amount Tyler from the office instructed. Shortly after moving in, we were threatened with a $25 late fee over a supposed 50-cent discrepancy. We reached out three times for clarification before receiving a rude, dismissive response blaming us for a math mistake. There was no apology, no explanation — just a demand to pay, which we found completely unnecessary and disrespectful. A simple, polite request would have resolved it instantly. Upon moving in, we also discovered that the sink was leaking. When maintenance came, they didn’t fix it. We even removed our dog from the apartment to give them full access, but nothing was resolved. Instead, we received a blaming phone call from the office acting as if we had interfered — when in reality, we did everything possible to cooperate. The issues have continued. We reported a leaking window in the bedroom that lets in rain and allows the AC to escape, causing the room to remain hotter than the rest of the unit. Despite reporting it over a week ago and sending three emails, we’ve received no update or repair. Someone came to look, but nothing was done, and now we’re being ignored entirely. The safety and environment around the complex have been deeply concerning: • We frequently find liquor bottles tossed throughout the property • On several occasions, we have found discarded clothing hangers and security sensor tags on the stairwells, which gives the impression that individuals may be ditching stolen goods on site • Most disturbingly, we had random men knock on our door five separate times in one day, and then four more times the following day — all claiming they had the wrong apartment This was extremely uncomfortable, especially with children in the home. It happened so frequently that I was forced to post a sign on our door stating that no one should knock unless they were Amazon or maintenance. Between the unprofessional staff, rude communication, unresolved maintenance issues, and serious safety concerns, we absolutely do not recommend moving here. We are actively reviewing our legal options under Texas tenant law and have already begun filing formal complaints with the Attorney General’s office.
