2nd review for Catalina Apartments - FINALLY MOVED OUT! Catalina Apartments is a ok apartment complex if you are low on income. My now fiancé and I were living there for 2 years through different managements and though it got better, the community and state of our apartment/complex was eventually what drove us away. A few of the issues we faced were people are breaking glass everywhere outside (all the time and not picking it up), people not leashing their dogs so they are just roaming around (we had 2 dogs and this made every dog walk that more stressful), disrespectful residents (blasting music out their cars at midnight, residents yelling at each other, overall bad apartment conditions due to lack of action (maintenance does what they can are are nice people, but are low staffed and under-funded - (ex. Put in multiple work orders for our broken cabinet and it never got resolved, even when it literally began collapsing)), constant AC issues, eventually leading to a replacement of out ENTIRE UNIT (they worked on this hard and got it fixed within 2-3 weeks), etc. Now the management has gotten a WHOLE lot better since we moved in but honestly, this place needs to be torn down and rebuilt as something new. Pros: - Management has gotten better, actually answering the front desk phone now - Maintenance tries hard to check out and fix all issues, communicate with residents well, and works around your schedule to help you. - Cheap rent but expect it to raise each year by at least $100 Cons: - Residents can be rude and disrespectful, blasting music late at night and yelling in the parking lot - Dogs are always loose and I never found out if management does anything about it (I never saw action) - Glass can be expected on the sidewalks/roads - Trash cans are always full and are not spread out well AT ALL - Got charged twice for rent one time and they don't offer refunds, just credit for the next month's rent - Unleveled apartments (makes cooking a nightmare) - BUGS BUGS BUGS (even if you do everything right - roaches mainly)
