Ongoing Maintenance Issues and Lack of Communication
I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern regarding the ongoing unresolved maintenance issues in my unit, the lack of communication from management, and the serious health risks these conditions pose to my family.
For months, I have submitted repeated maintenance requests for issues including mold in the water heater and walls, and a bedroom window that leaks water during every rainfall. Despite these concerns being raised multiple times, they remain unresolved. Management previously informed me that after maintenance was unsuccessful in repairing the window, a third-party contractor would be contacted. That contractor came over a month and a half ago, but I have received no update or resolution since. Meanwhile, the resident portal falsely shows the request as “completed.”
In addition to the lack of action, I’ve experienced constant difficulty reaching the office — calls are rarely answered, and responses are delayed or non-existent. This lack of communication is unacceptable.
What’s most concerning is that I live in this unit with my baby boy. The mold and constant water intrusion pose a serious health risk to my child and to the rest of my family. These conditions are not just inconvenient — they are dangerous.
At this point, I am done reaching out. This is my final attempt to resolve the situation directly. If there is no immediate action, I will be contacting the appropriate city departments and initiating the process to break my lease due to uninhabitable living conditions.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
*beware of all the 5 stars. If you look closely, most of them are from people who only toured the complex but never actually lived here. Sure, the staff are friendly when you're visiting, but that all changes once you sign the lease. After that, they ignore your concerns and rarely follow through on anything. If you look at all the 1 star reviews, it's all from people who have lived here!*
I’ve lived here for 4 years, and the recent change in management has made things worse than ever. Maintenance requests take forever. I submitted one over two weeks ago, followed up multiple times, and still haven’t gotten a response. It feels like they’re just ghosting me.
The apartments themselves are also poorly built. The walls and ceilings are paper thin, you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. My upstairs neighbor stomps around all night, and even after multiple complaints, management has done absolutely nothing. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve decided to break my lease just to get out. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

The Rocklyn used to be a great place to live. That all changed when new ownership took over in January 2025. They replaced all the office staff as well as maintenance staff when the ownership changed. Since then the parking garage gates are constantly broken, multiple false fire alarms, pool always closed, trash piling up. I'll not be renewing my lease. The building is also full of aggressive dog breeds (pit bulls) that have charged at me on several occasions. There has also been on ongoing problem with homeless people accessing the building. Security is non existent. Looking forward to moving on.
