If I could give a zero I would. I was cancelled my application after being shown and informed the appliances in the viewing is the best option available. The appliances were extremely old and appeared to be damaged. 45 days later and I still have not received the refund. I keep calling and emailing. Every call I am told the manager or assistant manager will call me back and nothing. Not worth it. If the staff is this unprofessional and I’m not a tenant I don’t even want to know how they actually treat their tenants. This place is ridiculous.

UPDATE: After FINALLY talking to someone at the office, they tried to casually tell us that we were due no refund. My wife literally had to scream at the person for them to understand that we have been waiting 45 days for a refund that was promised for them to seem to take us seriously. They have sent us an updated statement saying we'll be refunded the $375 in full, but it seems we will have to wait ANOTHER 30-45 days. I will be transparent and update this review again once it is received. I do not think we had to have gone this far, but if we didn't no action would have been taken on their end.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I didn't even live at Preston Pointe, yet I have a SERIOUS complaint about here. Long story short, my wife and I applied here and then subsequently withdrew our application. We were told in no uncertain terms by the leasing office (Naomi to be specific - who some other reviewers speak of highly) that we would be refunded our $275 deposit and $100 applicatoin fee within 30-45 days.
Well, that time has since come and gone and neither have we received our refund (which they make you give them in cashier's checks - presumably so it's harder to fight your case when this happens), nor have we heard from them, despite them having both our phone number and email address on the application we submitted.
At this point I can only assume they have STOLEN our money in bad faith and are hoping we are too intimidated to do anything about it. What I don't understand is WHY a huge company that manages so many properties not do business more honestly. OK, so we changed our minds. So what? Simply give us back our HARD-EARNED money and let's all move on with life. According to your sales representative in the office, your apartments are in high demand so it would be easy to find someone else to occupy the space.
The mere fact that the wait time is 30-45 days should have told me this was going to be a situation where I would be BS'd and pushed around. We will NOT quit pursuing our OVERDUE refund and will NOT back down until it is received. This will NOT simply blow over!
There are 300+ reviews here with a 3-star rating overall. Many many MANNNY of these reviews repeat the same complaints about people being pushed around, about unfulfilled promises of call backs and email replies when you contact their on-site leasing office, about rude responses and nonchalant attitudes on the staff's part and so much more. Let's not even get into the maintenance and other aspects as this review is just about the horrible administration.
If they think this is our last resort, they are sorrily mistaken. We are aware this is a violation of Texas Property Code 92.354 and have submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. We will also file a claim in court and consult the Attorney General's office if we have to, as we are aware we may be able to recover up to 3X the fees they are keeping in bad faith (plus lawyer and court fees).
If you are a representative of Preston Pointe or Price Communities and are reading this review, please do not respond with a BS damage control message. We have seen other reviews where you ask complainants to reach out to you at [email protected] or to call 972-980-1951. We have also seen the reviews stating that you NEVER call back or respond to emails. How about YOU be proactive in resolving this matter and contact US at Ph: 2 1 4 - (ph# removed since we have been contacted) so we can resolve this IMMEDIATELY?
This situation is sad...borderline CRAZY! We don't even want to know how many similar complaints there are. We just want our refund. Is that asking too much?
