I would not recommend this community to anyone. I woke up on a Friday morning to the worst imaginable situation, I found my husband at the top of the stairs in our town home, I called 911 but there was nothing that could be done. My worst nightmare was beginning. Anyone who has had to deal with the sudden loss of a loved one knows it’s a lot.
I finally went to talk to the leasing office and Janette lied and said they would not honor the termination clause and threatened my credit, said I’d have to pay it out or they’d ruin my credit. She said she’d ask her boss if there was anything they could do and get back to me but never did.
I had to call their corporate office and Vanessa Vanderpool returned my call and we then met in person in the leasing office. I was in tears and explained and showed her my lease and she said that, yes, they’d honor the existing lease. I had to send her proof that I had tried to put in the two month notice on the 27th of August. I thankfully reached out that day on Facebook, Reddit, and a message to a friend in property management, so I had solid documentation. Ms. Vanderpool accepted this as my two month notice. I asked her if the 27th of October would be my last day and she said lets make it the 31st of October. I agreed. I brought in the documents they asked me to sign and they also signed and dated them 31st October. It was a written and a spoken agreement. I paid everything I needed to and even confirmed that I’d only owe cleaning fees after the 31st of October. I explained to Ms. Vanderpool that I would not be bringing the keys back that I just needed to leave and they can charge me for those, after all they gave me a price list for those items and I just wanted to go and never return once I got myself moved out. She said she completely understood.
So while I’m out of the country with family, grieving my husband, they begin trying to call and I eventually got an email, obviously I have my phone off because it’s expensive out of the country and I was focused on healing. They said I owned more days because I didn’t’ bring them the keys. I have never heard of that nor had a property do that.

Once, I returned I have several conversations via email with Ally. She basically says I would have had to make contact. I made sure with Ms. Vanderpool that I could leave and it would be fine. Now I trusted she was telling me the truth as she sympathized and hugged me and wished me the best. Boy was I wrong. And she was CC’d in all the emails with Ally, radio silence. Ally basically says it will go against my credit if I don’t pay. I didn’t have the energy to fight anymore, so I paid.
I was charged for cleaning a Dirty toilet but it was cleaned and explained several times that it would become dirty because of the mold in them. Both American Standard toilets. The upstairs was original and date stamped 1969 (55 years old), the downstairs is date stamped 1986 (38 years old). I scrubbed the inside of these tanks and tried everything, they would mold within a week. I tried every trick to get them clean. Ms. Vanderpool said I would not be charged.
I was also charged for carpet cleaning, because of a stain at the top of the stairs and even sent a picture. I did attempt to clean that. This carpet was already old and matted when we moved in and was in need of replacement.
Also, the windows had little seating areas upstairs, they are soft and squishy from the moisture. I must have been nose blind because once I got all my stuff moved out of there the smell of mold and mildew was bad. I had to wash and air it all out. One of the last things I found was a petri dish with agar, full of mold. It was a mold test someone must have left there ages ago, it was on such a high shelf that I never used so I didn’t find it at first.
And finally, there are no lights in any of the bedrooms or the living area. Be prepared to buy lamps, there is no natural light, may as well live in a dungeon.

The service is very bad and the maintenance service is never fulfilled. The dogs are on the shepherd and they don't pick it up. Their feet are always full of poop. They say they have a gym but there isn't one. The washing machines don't work and they say they are included and they don't work. The apartments are flooded. I don't recommend it at all. Bad customer service.
