I have a been a resident at Ivy Urban Living going on two years now. I have enjoyed living here. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Our leasing manager Shanike is thoughtful, patient, friendly and kind. The property staff will make sure all your needs and requests are fulfilled in a timely manner especially when maintenance issues are involved. The front office staff has great communication with us residents by keeping us in the loop about what is happening and going on with the complex as far as repairs, weather conditions, and anything with the property. The staff has had successful events that they have for us residents to bring the community together to bond and get to know each other. Our communities sip and paint event was a great success by having fun, food, drinks and prizes and bonding and a great networking opportunity for myself due to me being an up and coming nail technician. I was able to have more clients for my business. My son and I really appreciate the opportunity we had got to be able to call Ivy Urban Living community our home.

Summer was a dream if your dream is living in an 88-degree sauna. Winter? A brisk 54 inside. Each time they “completed” a work order, nothing actually changed. Honestly, I probably had grounds to sue, but I was just happy to escape that place. Still, I left quietly. I didn’t even plan to write a bad review, even when they pulled the most ridiculous move: they charged an outrageous amount for “move-out repairs” and carpet cleaning (come on do apartments like this ever look clean when you move in?). Then what really pushed me for this review was when they handed it over to a collections agency. No warning, no email, no call—just a sudden collections notice weeks after we moved out.
Mind you, we paid rent on time every single month. Never caused problems. And this is how they treat tenants who leave in good standing?
The Ivy is a joke. Management is unprofessional, and once you’re gone, they’ll find a way to squeeze a few extra dollars out of you—quietly, behind your back.
Rent here if you enjoy being ignored, overcharged, and disrespected.

My experience with this property management company was disappointing enough to warrant a one star review.
When I moved out, I had the unit professionally cleaned and recorded a walkthrough video just 10 minutes before returning the keys. Despite that, I received no move-out statement or refund for weeks. I had to follow up multiple times, only to find out $125 was withheld for a supposed cleaning issue. The manager sent photos of a dirty sink that didn’t match the condition in my video. They initially agreed to refund the charge, then stopped responding altogether.
This wasn’t my only issue. During my time living there, the Amazon lockers were broken into and packages were stolen. Same with our mailboxes, sensitive information and mail gone missing. Months went by without repairs, forcing tenants to travel to the post office to retrieve their mail. The office staff was always apologetic but had no answers, blaming the post office staff for being unwilling to deliver the mail. Corporate’s cost-cutting decisions and refusal to properly maintain the property is why I decided to satisfy my lease obligation and move out.
If you’re considering renting here, be prepared to document everything and advocate for yourself—because management certainly won’t.
UPDATE: June 11th, 2025 | I have since been in contact with the property manager for Ivy Urban Living. They were extremely apologetic and have overnighted the refund for the incorrect charge of $125. My previous review still stands, due to the current management company not caring much about this property and allowing it to degrade into its current state and practices.
