I lived here for approximately one year and knew within the first month that I would not be renewing my lease. It was clear that my apartment unit was not well-maintained or properly cleaned before I moved in but I made the mistake of scheduling my movers on the same day that I received my keys. So while I accept my role in that issue but I do feel that I was forced to pay for repairs at moveout that were caused by the previous residents there is a reason they ask for such high deposits despite good rental history.
My main concern was the consistent pest issues that I experienced despite having pest control come treat my apartment 4-5 times over the course of my time here. Keep in mind I was on a higher floor and still had pests (ants, roaches, etc). I also saw roaches in the hallways often as well. I believe there must is a foundation issues as water would seep into my windows when it rained heavily and you could here a whistling noise with high winds. I put in a maintenance request for this issue but nothing was done.
The walls are thin in general, you can hear your neighbors and hallway conversations and if you live on the backside by the new light rail you are in for a rough time. At night the light rail station is lit up with neon bright lights all night long and the station is not even open yet. Further, this complex is not well maintained, the stairwells are disgusting and the hallways often stink. There was a roof leak on the 4th floor that occurred months ago and there was a whole in the ceiling where you can see insulation that was still there when I moved out. The parking garage is a hazard and also so dirty you can barely see the white lines denoting the spaces but you will get towed if you park outside the lines.
I will say that the leasing agents were very kind and they were always helpful when I needed their assistance but management needs to do better, I expected much more from a "luxury" apartment complex.

I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Berkshire Amber Apartments. I was approved for an apartment and had everything in order, only to be hit with a surprise $50 monthly parking fee — something that was never clearly disclosed upfront during the application process. When I questioned this, I was told that the fee could be waived if I added my fiancée to the lease, even if she was denied. That logic alone was a red flag.
To make matters worse, after being told we could move in on May 31st, the leasing office backtracked and said we would not be able to move in as planned. No clear explanation, no accountability — just a complete lack of professionalism and transparency throughout the entire process.
This kind of inconsistency and poor communication is unacceptable, especially when people are planning major life transitions like relocating and moving into a new home. I cannot in good faith recommend this complex to anyone. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration.
